Watermelon 'Tigrimini' is an early ripening variety. Its oval-round fruits contain very few and small seeds. The fruits of this variety are a manageable size. They contain juicy flesh that is a delicious treat on hot summer days. The sweet taste is not only a highlight when eaten "pure". The flesh of 'Tigrimini' is ideal for processing into juice. It is also a popular addition to desserts and ice cream. The fruits can weigh up to 2 kg when ripe and are ready to harvest from August to October. This variety is the improved successor to the 'Red Star' watermelon.
F1 Hybrid
Not frost resistant
The F1 hybrid should be pre-cultivated. The young plants can be grown from March to May. To do this, the watermelon is sown in pots to encourage root ball formation. 'Tigrimini' feels at home both outdoors and in cold frames or greenhouses. If the young plants are planted outdoors, the sensitive roots must not be damaged.
