Yellow or white mustard is an annual green manure plant. It develops quickly, covers the soil quickly and intensively roots the topsoil. Favorable green manure plant, if not too many cruciferous plants are grown. Serves as insect food. Height about 100 cm.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Can be pre-sown indoors before the ice saints, starting in March, when the mustard seeds are to be harvested. Can also be sown broad-cast, about 4 g per m^2, about 1-2 cm deep. Suitable for all soils. Keep seed well moist. When pods rattle, they are ready for harvest. First leaves for slate or similar can be harvested after about 3 weeks. Contributes to soil health by controlling plant-damaging nematodes and loosening soil through its roots. Yellow mustard can also be left standing in the fall. The foliage freezes off in the winter, so the plant debris can simply be buried in the spring. The seeds, however, should be harvested in the fall so you don't run the risk of yellow mustard reseeding. Do not grow with other cruciferous vegetables.
