Juicy orange Nantaise type variety selected for flavor with rapid youth development and healthy, vigorous foliage. Intense, sweet carrot flavor. Lower susceptibility to alternaria and bursting. Can be used as a bunch and wash carrot as well as a storage carrot. Germination after 20-30 days at 10-25°C/50-77°F. Preplanting possible, but transplanting may cause curvature, branching of carrots. Especially suitable for heavier soils.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Sowing for early cultivation as bunch and wash carrot from the end of February. Cultivation for storage from the end of May. Development period about 120 days. Recommended cultivation period: 3-4 years. Cover with cultivation net against carrot flies. Windy locations help, as well as mixed crops with onions or leeks, calendula or Tagetes. Sowing in alternation with radishes helps to mark the rows and prevents thinning due to too dense sowing. Bed should not be freshly fertilized when seeding and avoid manure for fertilizing. For uniformly orange carrots, mound any protruding ends. Tip: Keep moist in the last weeks before harvest to prevent bursting.
