The (almost) evergreen blueberry 'Sunshine Blue' is a very special variety. This plant does not lose its leaves even in mild winters and is a decorative eye-catcher all year round! The plant only loses its green foliage during heavy frosts, although it will soon grow it again. Its good yield of delicious blueberries should be emphasized! The berries of (bot.) Vaccinium corymbosum 'Sunshine Blue' are medium to large in size and ripen very late. The tasty fruits of the (almost) evergreen blueberry 'Sunshine Blue' can be picked from July to August. A summery treat for fruit salads, ice cream sundaes and cakes. Blueberries, or blueberries as they are often called, are healthy and rich in valuable nutrients and vitamins.
F1 Hybrid
Frostproof
The flowers of Vaccinium corymbosum 'Sunshine Blue' are strikingly pink. This is rather unusual for a blueberry and makes this variety a real eye-catcher. This fruit shrub has a high ornamental value and not only adorns the garden. As a container plant, the evergreen blueberry 'Sunshine Blue' cuts a fine figure on the balcony and patio. What could be nicer than picking a few berries for your morning muesli? During the flowering period in May, the plants of this variety provide food for many insects and bees and bumblebees eagerly buzz around them. The evergreen blueberry 'Sunshine Blue' has a high soil tolerance and can cope with less acidic soils than other varieties. The growth of this self-fruitful blueberry is compact with a height of around 100 cm. For the evergreen blueberry 'Sunshine Blue' to thrive, it needs a semi-shady location and well-drained soil with sufficient moisture. This variety is extremely hardy and survives the cold season well. As it is evergreen, it needs water on frost-free days, even in winter.
