...yesterday I was at the Raiffeisenmarkt again, and I actually saw lamb's lettuce in soil-pressed cubes 😳
...honestly, before I'd buy something like that to plant in my garden, I'd probably just shoot myself...😎
...but whatever—if someone needs it, I hope they’re happy with it...🤷
...yeah, and to kind of stay on topic, here’s a quick, tasty recipe from my #fallkitchen
➡️ Lamb’s lettuce* from the garden with “treats” ⬅️
Ingredients:
▪︎Lamb’s lettuce, button mushrooms, strips of cooked ham, whole-grain rye bread,
▪︎Dressing: garlic, a little grated horseradish root, cranberry jam, Dijon mustard, sunflower oil, balsamic vinegar, sea salt
Wash the lamb’s lettuce three times and spin-dry it.
Slice the button mushrooms thinly; sauté the ham strips and bread cubes in a little butter;
Mix the dressing ingredients, gently toss the salad with it, top with the mushroom slices, croutons, and ham strips, and enjoy with fresh baguette or whole-grain rye bread. We really enjoyed a wonderful cider with this! 😋
The author and surviving 😉 taste tester @patronbernard wishes you bon appétit
*We call lamb’s lettuce “Lämmli” 🐑
