What is the purpose of adding oil, is it to attract wasps to enter for pollination? Some fig fruits needs wasps while other varieties don't.

Could be the scent from the oil will attract the pollinators to enter, since the tiny flowers are actually inside the fruit, could be also to make it easy for the wasp to enter, since the fruit opening is so small that the wasp will lose its wings after entering.

It is a fascinating process, I watched a video about it. How is the temperature in your area right now? As long as it stays warm and the fig tree is properly watered they will ripen up, I noticed that more fruit will rippen in my fig tree few days after watering.

Schade 😔
