The first chocolate candies are growing 😇
I guess I’ll have to put a net over it so the birds leave some for us.
This shrub is the Himalayan honeysuckle, also known as the caramel bush.
The name “caramel bush” really hits the mark: The ripe fruits—and they have to be quite soft by then—melt on your tongue with a chocolatey caramel flavor!
The creamy white flowers are fringed with burgundy-red calyxes, followed by deep brown, soft, juicy berries. However, only a few ripen at a time, so it’s best to eat them right off the bush. In good soil, the shrubs can grow up to 2.50 meters tall.
