Hi 😃 Those pests are back 😱—flea beetles. Over the last few days, the nearby rapeseed field has been harvested. And now the flea beetles are looking for food 😞 We’re protecting our plants with an insect netting that has a mesh size of 0.8 x 0.8 mm (Photo 1/2). As you can see in Photo 2, there are lots of flea beetles clinging to the outside of the netting 😞 I’m catching them with yellow sticky traps. This is very effective—Photo 3👍 And a few pests always manage to get under the protective netting. That’s why there are bowls of water with dish soap placed underneath the netting—that way, they’ll drown—Photo 4 And a few more things that aren’t going perfectly in the garden. Photo 5: The bell pepper just snapped off 😞—we forgot to tie up this branch. Photo 6+: My melons had had enough—the leaves were all wilted 😞
