We’ve picked most of the @blackcurrants yesterday - 3kg (it’s not everyone’s favourite job but I find it very relaxing) and decided to make cordial, which is how I like to use it best. Once the fruit is soft and falling apart I turn off the heat and leave it to cool completely overnight to let the flavours infuse. Homemade cordial is hard to beat!

I’ve adapted this recipe: https://www.recipesmadeeasy.co.uk/homemade-blackcurrant-cordial/#recipe. I generally cook it a bit longer on the lowest heat, but never boil it. Plus I cool it completely overnight before sieving.
