This beautiful symbol of cordiality is a member of the fumitory family. The weeping heart (Dicentra spectabilis / Lamprocapnos spectabilis), also known as the tall heart flower, is a fascinating companion in the garden. This perennial and herbaceous perennial is a delight on its own or in a group at the edge of shrubs. The pink heart-shaped flowers of (bot.) Dicentra spectabilis are the crowning eye-catcher. It looks as if a white tear is hanging from each of the heart-shaped flowers. The heart-shaped flower owes its name to this incomparable appearance. The many flowers hang close together on long, arching shoots that turn slightly reddish towards the tip. This results in racemose inflorescences. The pinkish-white flowers are medium-sized and striking. They appear from May and remain on the branches until June. The deciduous foliage of the plant is blue-green. The individual leaf is variable, three-lobed, matt and soft. Dicentra spectabilis reaches a height of around 60 to 80 centimetres with its upright, spreading growth.
