The poppy is one of the oldest cultivated plants in Europe and was cultivated over 5,000 years ago. Due to its thousands of years of use in medicine, poppies are often depicted in literature and visual art in connection with sleep and dreams. Red poppies also serve as a symbol of remembrance.
Non hybrid
Frostproof
Sowing: The delicate summer flowers can be sown outdoors from April to June. The fine seeds are easier to spread when mixed with sand. Press down lightly, cover only thinly (light germinators) and keep moist during the germination period. Germination takes place at 12-15 degrees in 10-14 days. Separate the young plants so that they can flower profusely. Silk poppies form long taproots, making them difficult to transplant.
