Description

Very shoot-resistant selection from ReinSaat with firm, densely filled, highly rounded, slightly pointed heads with a high yellow content. Tender, fantastically sweet leaves with a slightly bitter note. A fine chicory lettuce for fall and winter with a slightly more delicate flavor than endive. Tolerates light frost.

Non hybrid

Frostproof

Growing tips

Direct seeding not before mid-June, otherwise risk of bolting. Not suitable for forcing. A wind-protected, sunny location with deep (because of taproot), humus-rich soil is preferred, but generally rather undemanding. Does not need to be preplanted. Germination after about 8 days at 20-25°C. Seeding soil is recommended. Separate after 4 weeks at the latest. Protect from cold when young to prevent shooting. Remove weeds regularly. Withstands light frost, but do not overwinter outdoors. Good shelf life until January/February. Cultivation period approx. 90 days.
