Description

Darling is in this series of new varieties the variety with the realtively very best aroma, only medium sized, but with a 'gluschtigen' and attractive light to medium red color. Ripening: medium ripening, clearly after Flavia and Solemio. Fruits: medium size, somewhat oval or drop-shaped; light red to bright red, never turns completely dark like Flavia and also Lady Late, the most beautiful of all red gooseberry colors; harvest often with stem, absolutely hairless Taste: the best variety also in the Crispa assortment; somewhat fruitier, more berry-like even than the other varieties; perhaps with a hint of raspberry aroma. Sweet, but also accompanied by a refreshing acidity when fully ripe or overripe; the ultimate berry snack. Growth/health: upright, beautifully tight growth; excellent tolerance to American gooseberry powdery mildew and leaf drop disease Yield: high, berries regularly distributed throughout the bush
