Ripe melon has a champagne-colored skin with orange stripes and dots. The flesh is orange, exceptionally sweet and juicy. The variety was developed around 1900 by Oliver Crane in Santa Rosa / USA. From different origins and colors this beautiful melon was created. Crane's goal was to create the perfect melon that was not only pretty, but also tasted great. As he said, "The problem today is that most people don't even know how good a melon can be." Customers around his farm, now in its sixth generation, soon knew, flocking just to purchase these melons.
