Rich Sweetness 132 originates from the Baltic States and reminds us very much of Melon de Poche Queen Anne's (45160). The fruits of these two species have the same size and look alike in their markings. These mini melons are about the size of a tennis ball and have a glassy white flesh that has a delicious, fresh sweet flavor. Rich Sweetness 132 is easy to grow and therefore very fun for children. The plant has a strong climbing habit and can grow very well on wire in a greenhouse. Rich Sweetness 132 needs a lot of heat and light to grow. Therefore, it is best to sow it in a heated greenhouse. This can be done from March to mid-May. Make sure that the soil temperature at sowing depth is between 22 and 25 °C. However, the night temperature should not be below 15 °C. Place the seeds, point down, 1 cm deep in moisture-retentive soil. Keep the soil slightly moist. Be careful not to make the soil too wet so that the seeds do not rot. Only when the seedlings have formed two to three more leaves next to their first two can you transplant them. Keep a planting distance of about 70 cm. It is best to stretch a rope or wire in the greenhouse for the plants to grow up. To avoid cross-pollination as much as possible, do not put the melon plants near the cucumber and pumpkin.
