The Aji Limón chilli is one of the best-known varieties of the Capsicum baccatum species native to South America due to its intense citrus aroma. The Lemon Drop chili is also known as Aji Limón or Hot Lemon and is a very high-yielding variety that can bear up to 100 fruits in a year. The elongated chillies are thin-walled with few seeds and ripen from green to a bright yellow. The fruity, citrus-like aroma makes the Lemon Drop chilli ideal for salads. They can also be eaten fresh or dried and processed into chilli powder, which turns a bright yellow color.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
The germination temperature is between 22 and 28 °C (8 - 20 days germination period), so the use of a greenhouse and a heating mat is recommended. The plants need fresh, well-fertilized, well-drained soil and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be placed in a sunny, sheltered spot with at least 6 hours of sunlight, preferably more.
