The Arlecchino chili comes from Italy and translates as "harlequin chili". It has dark foliage and the small, upright-growing chillies, which ripen from black-purple to orange to red, display a beautiful play of colors. The chillies have a medium heat and are suitable for fresh consumption, seasoning, cooking and drying. The plants are relatively small and are also suitable as houseplants. Particularly beautiful as decoration. Species: Capsicum annuum Pungency level: 6 Scoville: 5,000 - 15,000 SHU Optimum germination temperature: 22 - 28°C/72-82°F Sowing: Feb. - Apr. Flowers: white (May - July) Growth habit: bushy, approx. 60 cm/23.6 in tall Ripening: from purple to orange to red Fruit appearance: elongated, upright, 1x2.5 cm/0.4x1 in Ripening time: approx. 70 days Origin: Italy
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
The germination temperature is between 22 and 28°C/72-82°F (8 - 21 days germination period), therefore the use of a greenhouse and a heating mat is recommended. The plants need fresh, well-fertilized, well-drained soil and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be placed in a full sun, sheltered spot with at least 6 hours of sunlight, preferably more. Place the plants outside approx. 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost.
