Description

Info: Annual. A semi-double, non-clinging mixture in various shades of red and yellow. The Whirlybird series stands out from other nasturtium mixes as its flowers bloom above the foliage. Growing height: approx. 30 cm. Care: Nasturtiums thrive in any humus-rich, loose garden soil. Fertilize sparingly, otherwise the foliage will take over and the flowers will disappear underneath. 2-3 seeds per planting site/pot. Sowing depth 2 -3 cm (dark germinator). Use: In beds and borders, the bushy plants with their drooping growth create a lush effect. They look nostalgic on walls, in rock gardens and containers, as well as on balconies. Gardener's tip: leaves, flowers and buds are edible and make a tasty, spicy salad. Buds and recently fertilized seed capsules can be placed in brine. They are used as a caper substitute.
