Lettuce Ovation (Lactuca Sativa) Ovation forms very beautiful, large, medium green glossy leaves with an erect umbel, closed underside and small stalk. Proven hardy and high yielding variety. Sowing: From February to August. Early sowing in seed trays, later directly in situ in the open field. Cover the seed only very thinly with soil. Germination: Uneven, after 6-15 days at an optimum temperature of 10-16°C. Higher temperatures may inhibit germination. Culture: Row spacing 30cm, in row 30cm. If necessary, after emergence warp to distance, planting not too deep. Location: Sunny if possible. Prefers loose, humus-rich soils, heavy soils are unsuitable. Fertilize only very carefully, lettuce is very sensitive to salt. Harvest: Harvest as soon as a firm head has developed. Harvesting early is very well possible by covering with foil / fleece. Use: Lettuces are among the most important vegetables in the world. They are very rich in vitamins and have a refreshing and stimulating effect. Tip: In case of drought, water abundantly, especially in the young plant stage.
