"A couper feuille de chêne blonde à graine noire" is a tender, fast-growing variety with a slightly nutty-spicy flavor. Has good budding ability and produces high yields. The leaves can be prepared fresh as a salad or steamed like spinach. Can be sown in a balcony box, cold frame or directly into the open ground.
Non hybrid
Frostproof
Sow shallowly from February to August. If sown early, sow in a cold frame, otherwise in the open. If direct sowing, space 20 cm apart in rows and 2 cm apart in rows (for cut lettuce). Transplant to 20 x 20 cm if too dense. Always ensure adequate watering and good nutrient supply. Sunny to partial shade location. Lettuce is compatible with itself. Furthermore, pluck lettuce is suitable for mixed cultivation with onions, tomatoes, cucumbers and radishes. For a continuous harvest, always leave the inner leaves (heart leaves) so that the plant can continue to grow.
