...@chicory-salad-sugar-loaf-22973 ...My favorite fall/winter salad: 🤩 the sugar loaf! ...Unfortunately, the bitterness has almost been bred out of it by now, but oh well: ...at least that suits my girlfriend’s sensitive taste buds...🤷... I’ve now cleared the garden bed to store those nice, plump lettuce “torpedoes” in a bucket filled with soil! Why am I doing this? This way, I can store them perfectly over the winter, protected from rain and snow, without them losing any quality... Another advantage: The poor little black snails inside don’t have to freeze quite as badly 🫣 as they would outdoors! ...of course, I had to cut one open right away: Wonderfully compact, a beautiful pale green on the inside, and—what a miracle—no snail stowing away as a stowaway ☺️ ...Lettuce recipe coming soon! 👋
