Yesterday was a wonderful fall day. We took advantage of it to dig up the roots of the thuja trees along the fence. I’ve already planted perennials on one side—the longer one. The perennials for the other side are already waiting in the boxes. The winter bed is green. The transplanted winter lettuces have taken root, and the seeds I sowed—like winter peas—have sprouted. I’m happy with how things are going. Tomorrow we’ll be mulching. We have a powerful mulcher at the community garden, and we mulch once a month. That’s very convenient.
