This year, I’d like to grow a few things in the greenhouse over the winter. If anyone has any inspiration, I’d be very grateful. I’d also appreciate any interesting ideas for improving the soil. Last year, I created compost beds using the no-dig method. I covered the soil with cardboard, then piled up all the garden clippings and compost I had on hand on top of it, and in the spring, I spread a layer of ready-made compost over it for planting. That saved me the trouble of turning the soil and so on. I then planted potatoes and carrots in it. The carrots turned out fantastic, but the potatoes were just so-so. I’m used to better harvests, but they weren’t bad. I’m going to do this again this year. The potatoes I planted earlier naturally ended up a layer deeper as a result. But overall, the soil is nice and loose. Unfortunately, it’s not weed-free, though it wasn’t too bad in the potato patch.
