On the topic of sowing purslane: Plantura says: ▪︎Since purslane requires a cold treatment to germinate, the best time to sow is between September and March, as long as temperatures remain below 12 °C. The ideal germination temperature is 8 to 12 °C. Seeds can be sown in furrows about 1 cm deep, with seeds spaced about 5 cm apart—they can be sown quite densely. A row spacing of 10 to 15 cm is perfectly sufficient for purslane. Depending on the weather, the first purslane seeds will germinate in as little as two to three weeks. ▪︎ Personally, I pre-sow purslane in multi-cell trays; otherwise, the snails would eat everything right after germination if I planted it directly in the ground...
