Today I harvested my second pointed cabbage. This time from the garden. It’s more compact, but this year the leaves are also firmer and more flavorful. I’m glad I don’t have any white cabbage. The butternut squash was blown off by the wind. Now it has to ripen in the kitchen. My first beefsteak tomato from the garden. There aren’t any in the greenhouse. I cooked the Swiss chard and ended up with two and a half jars of elderberry jam. This year has been difficult, but it’s not a total loss.
