I also noticed this in the peppers offered for sale in the market. I think it's normal.

...Die Chili haben Sonnenbrand, solange das Gewebe nicht weich wird = kein Problem! ...aber Beschattung wäre sicher nicht verkehrt 🤷

Eher Bräunung als Sonnenbrand! Das schwarze Pigment (Anthocyan) ist ein Schutzmechanismus der Pflanze. Es nimmt einen Teil der Lichtenergie – insbesondere UV-Strahlung – auf und schützt so die Zellen zu einem gewissen Grad. Gebildet wird es vor allem bei starker Sonne, aber auch bei Kälte oder Trockenheit. Der Mechanismus ist dabei derselbe: Wenn die Pflanze mehr Licht abbekommt, als sie unter den aktuellen Bedingungen durch die Photosynthese verarbeiten kann, hilft Anthocyan dabei, einen Teil dieser überschüssigen Energie abzufangen. 🤓
