Description

The white currant 'Primus' tastes sweet and sour and has a very good flavor. It is well suited for eating straight from the bush. It produces medium-high yields in mid-July. Berries white, translucent, medium-sized on very dense clusters. Columnar currants need little space and produce good yields. They grow vertically up the stem and reach a height of 150 cm. Only prune excessively long shoots to maintain the shape, and cut out old wood if necessary. Columnar currants need little space and usually bear immediately. Ideal for container planting, e.g. as balcony fruit. But also ideal for small gardens. The 'Primus' currant (Ribes rubrum) is known for its aromatic, mild fruits, which are fully ripe from July and have an inviting creamy white color.
