The small but numerous fruits can be harvested about the size of an olive and enjoyed raw on salads, as a vegetable or pickled. They can also be stuffed and eaten stewed in cucumber size. The Inca cucumber is an ancient Peruvian useful and medicinal plant, also known as the shaman cucumber because it was used for healing ceremonies.
