As beds that are neat and orderly do not fit into my garden, I am very happy that some chaos also has a positive effect on growth and cultivation. That's why I decided on a small section from the Ede garden, which shows a bedding crop that has already brought me good yields over the years. In the "Fruity & Fragrant" bed, I show my absolute favorite bed. Strawberries and garlic form the centerpiece. For the strawberries, I deliberately chose the multi-bearing "Mara de Bois" to ensure that I can enjoy strawberries all year round. In the middle is the "Sonata" variety, as it is very suitable for making jam. I placed garlic on the left and right, as garlic not only delights me with its aroma, but also keeps pests away from the strawberries. The garlic is of the "Ljubascha" variety, which grows quite large and is ideal for storage, and "Sprint", which, as the name suggests, is ready to eat earlier in the year. Marigolds and borage are used as borders, not only to provide food for bees and the like, but also to ensure pollination of the strawberries by attracting insects. The lettuce in the first row can be seen as a little cherry on top of the cream. In the "Fresh on the table" bed, I introduce you to a mixed crop that you can harvest permanently throughout the year to ensure a side salad on your tables. Onions and carrots keep pests away from each other and add a delicious flavor to any dish. The red onion "Red Baron" and the gourmet shallot "Cuisse de Poulet" have proven themselves in the garden and on the palate. The "Milan 2" carrot brings beautifully shaped and tasty carrots to the plate, which of course should not be missed with the surrounding salads.
