The species of plant Common nettle belongs to the family of Labiates (Lamiaceae). It grows herbaceous and grows up to 80 cm high. Blooms from June-October. Very sensitive to frost from about 7°C. Used as an indoor and ornamental plant. Annual. There are varieties with red, green, yellow or brown leaves.

Sow directly on the spot, cover with soil as thick as velvet, press down, keep moist. Germination temperature: 18°C Germination period: 10 to 14 days. Not in full sun, off-sun. Propagation by cuttings. To do this, cut off the shoot tips and place in a glass with water. Overwinter indoors. Do not plant deeper than under the 1st pair of leaves. Fertilize 1-2 times a week. Water well in summer, but avoid waterlogging. Wear gloves as some people are sensitive to the essential oils in the leaves of the plant. Cut back old and bare shoots.
