Description

Anise does not require additional fertilization. In unfavorable conditions with wet and cold weather, the seeds may not mature. Temperature determines the growing season for anise and the seeds mature only when it is warm enough. The essential oils of the anise plant deter aphids and cabbage white butterflies, so they are good neighbors in a mixed culture.
