Habitat: Sun to partial shade. No particular demands on the soil. Cultivation: Break out inflorescences. Belleville sorrel is a large-leaved, perennial variety. It can be used fresh in salads or steamed in butter. Sorrel is also ideal for soups. It boosts the body's own defenses and has a blood-purifying and detoxifying effect. The leaves are often used as food for small animals.
