Jamaican Red' is a typical Jamaican chili variety with an intense, fruity aroma and decent spiciness. The plants grow compact and bushy with dense foliage and grow to about 90 cm tall. The lampion-shaped, slightly wrinkled fruits ripen to a bright red, are thin-walled and yet juicy. The flavor is reminiscent of apricots and citrus with a slight smoky undertone. The chilies are great for making salsas, hot sauces, as well as pickling and drying. Scoville 30,000 - 100,000 SHU
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Care: The germination temperature is between 22 and 28°C (8 - 22 days germination period), so it is recommended to use a greenhouse and a heating mat. The plants need a fresh, well-fertilized permeable soil and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be in a full sun, sheltered spot with at least 6 hours of sunlight, preferably more. Place the plants outside about 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost. Optimal germination temperature 22 - 28°C Sowing Jan. - Apr. flowers white (May- Jul.) ripening time 90 - 110 days
