Yellow Pearshapedis over 200 years old traditional variety. Medium-early, aromatic cherry tomato with yellow fruits, pear-shaped 2.5-3cm, 20-25g. Yields from July to October. Thanks to their fruity aroma and summer sweetness, they are the perfect snacking vegetable, but can also be used for garnishing.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
'Yellow Pearshaped' grows to about 150 cm tall and can be grown in a greenhouse, in sheltered, preferably covered, open ground and in large tubs. Plenty of sun, water and soil nutrients will increase yield. Germination in 7-14 days at 20-25°C. For better germination, presoak the seed in a damp cloth for 48 hours and then sow. Prick out into pots after the two cotyledons have developed, but do not plant outdoors before mid-May. Set the root ball deep, as secondary roots will form on the main stem. Immediately provide a supporting aid, such as sticks or twine. Immediately break out any secondary shoots that appear from the leaf axils. Break off the tip above the 5th-6th inflorescence. After harvesting the first lower fruit cluster, remove foliage close to the ground to prevent the spread of fungal diseases. Fruits harvested unripe in the fall will ripen without further ado at 18-30° C. Never plant tomatoes in the immediate vicinity of potatoes, because the brown rot disease of potatoes also spreads to tomatoes. Further cultivation tips with the species cocktail stake tomato
