They offer a real color spectacle as the fruit develops. Initially, the fruits are green with dark green stripes. The colors develop into a yellow-orange, sometimes also red, but more towards pink. The more sun shines on the fruit, the more anthocyanins are formed, which color the skin purple-black (where the sun shines). The taste of the fruits, which weigh up to approx. 30g, is balanced sweet with some acidity and fruity aromas. The juicy fruits are very versatile and can be used as a snack tomato, for sauces or colorful salads. The plants can be grown as pole tomatoes, although this variety is so productive that you can leave several shoots and grow it more like a bush tomato. It produces many flowers and bears early, until frost. A roof for protection is certainly a good idea, although it should remain healthy for a long time and produce sufficient yields outdoors due to the early start to the harvest. Developed from a cross between Bosque Blue X Strawberry Tiger. Picture and text source: Eifeltomate.de
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Tomatoes require a lot of light, warmth, water and nutrients. They are grown from seed on the windowsill from March. The seedlings should be planted deep, up to the first leaf base, so that the root system is enlarged by additional lateral roots. Unlike most other crops, tomatoes should always be planted in the same place. The plants also need wooden/corrugated wire rods or a trellis to which you tie them regularly. This is the only way they can support the weight of the fruit. You should regularly break out the side shoots that form in the leaf axils. This is because they do not bear fruit and take away the plant's energy to concentrate on producing lots of fruit. Under-sowing with low-growing plants is a good option.
