The red columnar gooseberry Hinnonmäki red is a variety that originated in Finland and is widespread throughout Europe. Medium-sized, red fruits with few hairs. Medium firm, sweet, slightly tart and aromatic. Highly burst-resistant, easy to pick. Suitable for home gardens and commercial cultivation. Medium to high yields. Robust, not very susceptible to mildew. Ripen from the beginning of July. Columnar gooseberries need little space and produce good yields. They grow vertically up the stem and reach a height of 150 cm. Only excessively long shoots are pruned to maintain the shape. Ideal for container planting, e.g. as balcony fruit. But also ideal for small gardens.
