'Marmande' is a beef tomato with a strong, original tomato aroma. 'Marmande' combines appealing, flat-round and slightly ribbed at the stem, large, up to 500 g heavy and multi-chambered, therefore excellent cut-resistant flesh tomatoes in deep red, with a juicy fruity-sweet aroma. The early ripe fruits with a fine, rather mild taste have little acidity and should not be harvested too late, as they lose flavor overripe. Typical is the thin, soft skin and the red flesh core inside. Rather small-growing, up to 1.60 m. Ideal for growing outdoors, on the balcony and in the greenhouse.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Tomatoes need warm temperatures for germination between 20-28 ° C. Germination time is about 8-15 days. After germination, place in a cooler place (max. 20°C). If sown before March, there may be a lack of light and poorer growth of the plants. When pricking out, set deeper to the cotyledons so that the plants can form new roots. Harden off before planting out. Fertilize regularly and water evenly. Should be thinned out. Especially tie or fix the main shoot, otherwise it could break off due to the heavy fruits. A location protected from rain is advantageous. Basil (against mildew and whitefly) and Tagetes (against nematodes, viruses, whitefly) have proven to be good companion plantings.
