Description

The beef tomato Costoluto Genovese is "the" Mediterranean tomato par excellence. Known since ancient times, Italy can not do without it. The classic Italian variety has been grown in the Mediterranean region since the 18th century and is a real all-rounder in the kitchen. The flat-round, bright red tomatoes are heavily ribbed and have an extremely tasty, melt-in-the-mouth flesh. The intense tomato flavor of the Costoluto Genovese (Lycopersicon esculentum) beef tomato is at its best when eaten fresh and makes pasta sauces and Bolognese sauce an incomparable taste experience. Historic tomato varieties like these are a must for tomato lovers. The plants are very hardy and reach a height of up to 180 cm in tubs and outdoors. Harvesting begins from the end of July and the stake tomato bears burst-resistant, deliciously aromatic fruit until October.
