The bottle tomato Sosuletschka, which originates from Russia, grows to a height of approx. 180 cm and bears numerous 7-10 cm large (approx. 60-70 g), elongated, yellow fruits on its panicles, which converge at the bottom in a small point. The ovary produces so many fruits that it makes sense to leave only 1-2 stems. The taste is rather mild and fruity. Bottle tomatoes are usually mealy and are therefore often used in sauces. Sosuletschka, on the other hand, is hardly mealy, scores with a fine juice content and makes the tomato salad a little more colorful.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
This variety is quite robust and remains very healthy even outdoors without protection and bears many fruits on large panicles. To ensure that all the fruits ripen on the panicles, it can be grown with one shoot, or in the greenhouse with two shoots under very good conditions. As the long bottle-shaped fruits are prone to blossom end rot, they should not be fertilized excessively (nitrogen), as this can lead to blossom end rot! As is typical of the variety, the plants do not look particularly lush, but rather slender with drooping foliage.
