Description

Tomato Omas Beste is a robust and tasty egg tomato with a long and high yield, even outdoors. Very vigorous and can grow up to 4 m tall. The taste is wonderfully fruity and tomato-like. It is said to be an aromatic selection from De Berao originating in the Czech Republic. In the rainy summer of 2021, the best of our outdoor tomatoes with long resistance to blight and late blight. Suitable for fresh consumption and good for canning.

Growing tips

Pre-grow indoors from the end of February to mid-March. Ideal germination temperature 22-25°C. After germination, place in a sunny and very bright window in a cooler place. The less light is available, the cooler the young plants must be kept to avoid overgrowth. Plant out after the last frosts from mid-May. Tomatoes are heavy feeders and need a nutrient-rich planting soil, but over-fertilization with nitrogen should be avoided. This tomato variety also grows outdoors without rain protection or in a well-ventilated greenhouse or tomato house, in pots and tubs on balconies and terraces.
