The plant is perennial and does not make great demands on your location. Because of the very long flowering period until October/November, it is interesting not only for beekeepers but also for small animal keepers as a fodder plant. Rabbit breeders and chicken keepers certainly know what I mean. The seed is in the seed umbels. These are quite firm, but you can crush them between your fingers, alternatively you can crush them with a hard object (knife handle) on a hard surface. The fine seeds then sow in rows, similar to lettuce. After 1-2 weeks germination time then appear the small plants, these then separate.
F1 Hybrid
Not frost resistant
When the chicory is sown in rows and has grown to a height of approx. 20 -25 cm, cut it off once approx. 2 cm above the ground. The plant will then sprout again and form the flower stalk. You can then also cut several times a year and always have feed mass, or let it grow and thus get one of the best nectar and pollen plants when it blooms.
