Fresh as a snack, with sandwiches or pickled with delicious spices: the 'Corentine, F1' pickling cucumber tastes good in any case! This crunchy cucumber is absolutely bitter-free and seedless. It is also dark green in color and cylindrical in shape. The fruit quality of this cucumber variety is excellent. As a parthenocarpic F1 hybrid, the 'Corentine, F1' pickling cucumber only produces female flowers. This has the advantage that they do not have to be pollinated by insects and yet a very high yield can be expected. The earlier and more often it is harvested, the more fruit it produces and the higher the yield.
F1 Hybrid
Not frost resistant
As cucumbers are quite sensitive to the cold, you should only plant them out after the Ice Saints. They also need a lot of warmth while they are growing, and a constant supply of water is also necessary. Covering the beds with dark, water-permeable mulch film has proven to be a good idea. The soil warms up more quickly under this and weeds are suppressed. Stress conditions such as temperature fluctuations, lack of water or frequent touching lead to the formation of bitter substances. However, this mini cracking cucumber is also ideal for pre-cultivating on the windowsill. A cultivation break of 3-4 years should be observed. Cucumbers must be able to hold on, as they form long tendrils (2-4 m). Regular harvesting increases the yield as more new flowers are formed.
