The gingko is characterized by its slender and upright growth. When young, it appears pyramidal and has few branches. The sparsely branched branches of older specimens grow more horizontally, forming expansive crowns. The bark is gray to dark brown and shows deep furrows with age. The tree often reaches heights of up to 40 meters and a diameter of up to four meters.
F1 Hybrid
Not frost resistant
The ginkgo does not make any great demands on the soil. It is an adaptable shrub that grows on all deep soils. Only soil that is too dry or too wet is detrimental to the plants. The best growing conditions are on loamy, nutritious soil in sunny to semi-shady locations. Young plants need protection from direct sunlight in the garden. Ice, snow and temperatures down to -30° C do not harm the mature tree.
