One of the few gold lacquer varieties that not only bloom beautifully, but also have a wonderful fragrance. Pinkish-yellow flowers that flow into each other. I tested several varieties in 2006 and it seems that the fragrant varieties have paler colors. Contrary to the description on many websites, the much-praised "Flowers Mauve" looks great, but has hardly any fragrance at all! The winter hardiness of Goldlack generally depends very much on the location: sheltered from the wind, not too poor soil, possibly covered with branches in winter.
