The Corsican crocus is an interesting perennial plant that presents itself from March with purple-violet, funnel-shaped flowers. The deciduous foliage is dark green in color. The individual leaves are linear. The preferred location for the Corsican crocus is a sunny to semi-shady position with well-drained, nutrient-rich and sandy garden soil. Under optimal conditions, Crocus cormus grows upright and reaches heights of up to 10 cm and widths of around 8 cm.
