Daboecia cantabrica 'Angelina' is popular due to its versatility. Planted in groups, it can be used as an attractive, low-maintenance grave planting or to radiate its intense charm at the front of beds in the home garden. It is also great for decorative purposes. An acidic soil is ideal for Irish heather 'Angelina', providing the plant with the conditions it needs to grow. Sufficient watering is particularly important during the growth phase. The plant does not require any special care from its owners. Only shaping and maintenance pruning can be carried out in spring. This allows the plant to regain its average growth height of 30 to 40 centimetres. Irish heather is generally hardy. Protection is advisable before the winter season. Well-established plants are frost-hardy down to -15°C. Should this be a particularly severe frost, it will sprout again and again. Daboecia cantabrica 'Angelina' was bred by heather breeder Kurt Kramer from Edewecht. It is one of the wonderful Irish heaths.
