Bearskin fescue is a beautiful, small grass that forms attractive, dense cushions. It is the ideal plant for creative garden owners and can be used in many places. It is characterized by its semi-trailing, winter-green foliage cushions, which are pleasing to the eye almost all year round. Its needle-shaped foliage is very fine, whole-edged and rigid. It is so pointed that it stings a little. Its color is a strong, fresh green. From June to August, Festuca gautieri delights with delicate panicles of flowers on slender, upright stems. The flowers are initially greenish in color, later turning a rich yellow. The bearskin fescue grows in a clump, very compact and extremely low. It only grows to a maximum height of ten to 15 centimeters. Its cushions grow around 20 to 30 centimetres wide and may even grow beyond this over the years.
