A hardy and robust garden beauty! The visual enhancement for every garden. The white-edged sedge 'Icedance', also known as Japanese sedge, is a grass-like ground cover. It impresses with its short but intensive flowering period, in which the pretty brown-yellow flower spikes stretch high into the sky. Together in groups, tufts or in combination with other perennials, this robust grass visually enhances its surroundings. The white-edged sedge 'Icedance' (bot. Carex foliosissima 'Icedance') is ideal for planting in gardens, on terraces or in parks. Its advantages are its winter hardiness, its resilience and the fact that it spreads rapidly. In the course of its life, it develops an arching, broadly bushy and overhanging habit that grows up to 40 centimetres high. The green, sturdy stems bear green and white striped leaves that grow in a basal arrangement. The winter-green leaves are lanceolate and have a strong green color with white edges. The flowering period of Carex foliosissima 'Icedance' begins in April, when the yellow to brownish flowers appear between the long leaves. They present themselves simply and look upright. The flowers of this garden beauty also give off a subtle and pleasant fragrance. The white-edged sedge 'Icedance' displays its flowers until June. They should be removed after the flowering period.
