Description

Fargesia Violet Woods® has particularly colorful purple-violet new shoots. At the same time, compared to other bamboo varieties, this variety hardly curls its leaves in stress situations and therefore looks fresh almost all year round, anticipating the great advantages of Violet Woods®. Fargesia Violet Woods® grows elegantly V-shaped and upright, reaching a height of 3 to 4 meters. The leaves are bright green and medium-sized. The special feature of this new cultivar is the strikingly colored new shoots and culm leaves. These are bright purple-violet in color and form a wonderful contrast to the deep green, downward-reaching leaves of this variety. This vigorous bamboo variety is hardy down to -25°C when planted. This variety has absolutely proven itself as a hedge plant and as a container plant. 'Violet Woods' forms clumps and does not produce troublesome runners. You therefore do not need to set a root barrier.
