The magnolia (Magnolia) belongs to the magnolia family (Magnoliaceae) and comprises around 300 species, which are mainly found in North and South America and East Asia. It is known for its large, eye-catching flowers, which appear in early spring or summer, often before the leaves emerge. Magnolias can be deciduous or evergreen, depending on the species and location. They grow as trees or shrubs and reach a height of 2 to 25 meters, depending on the variety. The leaves are usually large, leathery and glossy. The flowers vary in color from white to pink to purple and yellow. They are usually cup-shaped or star-shaped and spread a pleasant fragrance. Pollination is often carried out by beetles, as magnolias are a very old plant family that evolved before bees.
